Joanne Prague Doyle

While parents are committed to their children's education and social and behavioral health, and adult students are determined to achieve their goals in higher education, oftentimes people don't know or understand their legal rights and protections.  My role as an advocate is to listen, to learn, and to assist in ensuring that all students succeed.

My experience includes 7 years as an education advocate, 30+ years in public schools (PK-12) as a teacher, school counselor, 504 Coordinator and school administrator. I also worked at Charter Oak State College as the Accessibility Specialist, ensuring that students with disabilities receive appropriate accommodations designed to meet their specific needs.

I am the parent of a now young adult with disabilities and together with my husband, we worked long and hard to help him get the services, education and placement he needed. It is a often difficult process and for many, it is intimidating and frustrating. That is where having an advocate can help in many ways.

My goal is to provide the knowledge, guidance and support to assist in putting together a plan that helps the student.
